the year of the flaming Conifer.
Sunday, January 4th, 2009
A tradition has formed to burn Christmas tree as soon as my wife and children will let me abstract it from the house. Yesterday my wife hit the sales, so as soon as she left the house that poor, wilted, overpriced, Christmas tree knew its time was up.
Don’t get me wrong, i love Christmas; the celebrations, the family time, the food, the lights, the story, but i also love normality. The cracking orange glow of a Norwegian spruce marks the end of Christmas and the beginning of normality…
2009 is the year of the flaming Conifer. a year of celebrating and amazing season, remembering all the amazing moments, wishing they would never end, yet looking forward to seeing what is beyond the flames.
Last night I sat with my eldest daughter under the heavens toasting marshmallows on the embers of Christmas, i hope 2009 holds many more of these moments.
Happy new year.
E.

the art of art
Thursday, October 16th, 2008Bristol academy
My first night on the tour bus an I woke up in bristol with a head full of guilt, not because the events of the night before but because it was 11am and sleeping in past 8am makes me feel like a lazy teenager.
Evans emerged a little later and we wondered the streets of bristol in search of grey shirts and banksy pieces. We found a shirt for evans and saw some magnificent art. As always with good art, it makes you think, I love the way banksy has made us rethink art, is it art or vandalism? Pioneering is often cloaked with controversy. Sometimes art is so strong it awakens you to a new thoughts or allows you to see something in a way not seen before, I love that about art.
Then it was our chance to spray some audio murals through the air of bristol, the academy is small yet high making it a great venue to play as it feels like you can see everyone. The set is beginning to take form with a few further tweaks and additions, we are enjoying every note and mile traveled.
Go forth and paint the town but try not to get arrested for it.
